Is this discussion post acceptable for a upper level rhetoric class? These are the directions:

Question Is this discussion post acceptable for a upper level rhetoric class? These are the directions: Read Sam Leith’s ‘Other Men’s Flowers’; it is a New York Times opinion piece published in 2012. It’s an old article, but the author makes several valid points, which are current for today’s social and political climate. After reading the article, complete the following:What do you think about the author’s claims or notion/understanding of writing persuasively? Find and share an editorial from your favorite news publication and identify at least one of the concepts Leith discusses in his article. (Make sure it is a clickable link in your post).I do not care how you organize your responses. Just make sure you have provided sufficient answers. The post is due Friday, July 10th, by midnight; if you submit your responses after the 10th, I will consider them late and you could potentially lose points. For this post, no response to a classmate is required.I am worried that in this political climate that I am going to pay a price for writing this at a very liberal university. This is my work, what I what I wrote, and I would appreciate any suggestions:”Other Men’s Flowers” by Sam Leith is an interesting article that I learned a great deal from. While researching articles to choose I could see the valid points that he made, although, I had to look up the definitions for many of the terms he utilized.Regrettably, since the press has become ultra-political, I rarely read any of the papers I once enjoyed. However, I selected this piece from USA Today inasmuch as I used to read this paper. Examining several articles, I chose to use as an example is – “Trump’s last line of defense is the economy. Biden and Democrats must knock it down” by Bradley Beychok. This is the link:https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2020/07/08/joe-biden-democrats-must-attack-trump-covid-economy-column/5386624002/ The initial factor I noticed in this article is the tricolon and alliteration when Beychok states “… of his chaotic, crass and corrupt presidency…”, by using three words and they all start with c. Furthermore, I noticed ringing antithesis in this opinion piece; the author states that Trump would have “a semi-legitimate — albeit extremely flawed — argument to make ” The author uses a somewhat positive statement, “semi-legitimate” compared to the negative “albeit extremely flawed – argument to make” (Beychok, 2020). Reading this opinion piece recaps why I choose to refrain from examining their papers (of course I have been in school). If I comprehend the connotation of his piece, it says that one must keep the economy downward to defeat Trump since he was successful with the economy before the COVID 19 crises. Given that I am unable to work and understand the financial pain from not working, why would I want to be unemployed for another four months? Ridiculously, I believe that the author thinks that all democrats should not work, solely for a chance at a superior president. Wouldn’t it be less outrageous and more advantageous (yes, I used counterpoint rhyming) for one to work while voting for the president one desires? I understand that being older I may not understand the author’s viewpoint, nevertheless, I personally find these articles troubling. Even so, please recognize that I am not showing preference for any party as they all use outlandish rhetoric.Lastly, I am aware that I used rhetorical questions to explain my reasoning. I would not have known any of this if I hadn’t read the article by Sam Leith.ReferencesBeychok, B. (2020, July 8). Trump’s last line of defense is the economy. Biden and Democrats must knock it down.
